Thrifted Week 18

Today I went to a funeral.
They make you stop and think about what is really important.
Like how you want to be remembered;
Where you want to go when you
leave this world behind.
I love the C.S Lewis quote that says,
"You don't have a soul.
You are a soul.
You have a body."

How we dress this body here on earth really isn't all that important when you think about eternity.
I know where I'm going.  I'm secure in my salvation.
If you want to know more about Jesus ask me!

Now that I've established it doesn't matter...
Let's see what I wore to the funeral.
Yes, I wore purple tights.
{I think Patsy would have liked it.}

If this looks familiar, it is.
Same dress as a few weeks ago.
To show how I can change it up, I put on different tights and got rid of the jean shirt.
I'm amazing like that.

Elle Sundress $2.00 (Goodwill)
Fleur de Lis Necklace and Earrings (Raffle Prize!)

Purple tights (Marshalls)  Boots  (MJM)
Belt (Had Forever)

Make it an awesome day!

  1. K...so where did the snickers go? NOT to your thighs! I like black dresses...your boots are cute too. We're twins!

    1. Holly, get on a plane asap and get out here to California and we can eat Snickers and I will show you where the Snickers attach themselves to my body and you will be cured from ever eating them again! (And while you are here I promise to only use you for your supreme decorating skills for half the time. The rest is Snicker Time.)
      PS. My sectional is taking FOREVER to get here. 7 WEEKS. That's too long for us to be sitting on lawn furniture. TUESDAY it gets delivered. Oh my gosh I hope I like it. xoxo

  2. You look lovely. I am glad that you have the assurance of where you will go when your body's time is done, and your soul returns to your creator. God is so good. :)

  3. I love that you wore the dress with purple tights! (And you look so tiny in the dress, too!) Funerals are very real reminders that life on earth is short, and I'm so thankful to be secure in my salvation as well.

    Thank you for finding me - I'm happy to be following you back.

    Hugs from Oklahoma,

  7. I'm sorry for your loss, but you are so right about funerals reminding you about the important things! Even though you were at a funeral, you are rocking that black dress! You look amazing! I love that you put the purple tights with it too (and that the person would have appreciated that!).

  10. Thanks for the great perspective. I do like how you made this fun with tights for her funeral, knowing she would want it that way. Tights are amazing.
